HOUSE OF LORDS REPORT STAGE

Image At all its stages in the House of Lords a Bill is much more likely to be amended than in the Commons. The Government has no built in majority, and even its own backbenchers can take a different view to the frontbench. Report Stage usually happens 14 days after the Committee stage in the Lords and provides further opportunity for amendment.

Amendments already voted on in Committee may not be moved again.
