SERGEANT ROBERTS CORONER DEMANDS EVIDENCE FROM HOON

North Cornwall’s former MP, Paul (now Lord) Tyler today (Thursday) said that the Oxfordshire Coroner who has demanded evidence from former Defence Secretary, Geoff Hoon, might finally gain answers on the Government’s failure to provide suitable and sufficient equipment for troops at war in Iraq.

TYLER TO TAKE LORDS REFORM TOP SPOT

 

Liberal Democrat leader in the Lords, Lord (Tom) McNally, today (Wednesday) promoted Lord (Paul) Tyler to speak for his party on reforming the second chamber as Shadow Minister for Constitutional Affairs.  The move to the top spot follows Paul Tyler's initiation of an online "virtual" conference on constitutional issues earlier this year at http://www.takingpower.org.  Supported by Liberal Democrat Leader, Sir Menzies Campbell, the new working Peer invited people from all parties and none, and of all ages, to give their views on the recommendations of the POWER Inquiry - a comprehensive report on the features and failings of British democracy.

Former Shadow Leader of the House of Commons, Lord (Paul) Tyler, yesterday (Tuesday) challenged the Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, to deny that the Prime Minister had made an explicit promise that Peers would be given a final say over the future of the House of Lords.
